Fifteen Days of Fame
I’ve been truly blessed throughout my life. The latest demonstration has been my 15 days of fame, 1440 times longer than the 15 minutes most might expect.
Thanks to everyone for their outpouring of support throughout my 15 days. I’ve had a chance to reignite friendships with folks who I hadn’t heard from in years. I have folks at work selling my autograph (going price is $10). Best of all, I’ve got parents and kids thinking about math and science.
Yeah, I know the ads were actually on for 16 days, but the 15 minute analogy just works better with 15 days.

Ken,
Every time Michael Phelps won a metal, I started screaming at the TV (my family got very tired of this behavior), not because Michael won, but because it was followed by you talking about Math/Science.
I later found out that you now lead the Comp Modeling team in Clinton. This is a really big deal - I was always frustrated that no one outside of the team understood why things worked in Refinery Processing. The Comp Modeling crew saved me from a number of serious errors in processing strategies. Please do your best to find people who can keep the technology going. You’re a great person to make this happen - combine math, chemistry, analytics, and engineering. A great challenge, but something for which you’re uniquely qualified.
Best wishes,
Doug Harrison
